DMV Successfully Argues Improper Venue
DMV associate Brian Perez successfully argued to transfer venue in a products liability case originally filed in Philadelphia County. The plaintiff allegedly suffered severe injuries in a factory accident that occurred in central Pennsylvania. Although the plaintiff filed the complaint in Philadelphia, Mr. Perez argued that the venue in Philadelphia was improper because the defendant was an out-of-state defendant, and its minimal business in Philadelphia was not sufficient to establish Philadelphia as an appropriate venue for the litigation against the company.
